Wednesday Recap #5 15.05.24

Thought
On Sunday morning, and for the first time since September, I walked up a hill! Back then I’d hurt my Achilles, it hadn’t seemed that bad, a few days off and it would be okay, but it’s ended up taking the best part of nine months!
The actual walk was tough going but I’m glad I did it, but it would have been very easy not to. The weather forecast was bad from mid morning on and we had people for diner. So I left my hiking gear out the night before and set off a bit after 0630! I’d a tight window, so I needed to be organised and focused to get it done.
When I got home, hungry and aching legs, I could hardly believe how much I had enjoyed myself!
But over those months there had been the ice, the rubs, the massage gun, the stretches, the new boots, the short walks to build up to this.
There is doing in the moment, preparation in the run up, and working towards your goal in the long term. Doing isn’t just the moment, doing is everything that makes the doing possible.
Lesson
Your children are precious and are a great gift. This past week I heard the tragic and sad news about a child who passed away after a short illness.
Diary
1. My poteen tale ‘the wrong winds’ has become a spoken word script. I now started onto a thorough read through. This is when you read every sentence out loud and refine it as you go. There’s a huge difference between reading in your mind or listening via text-to-speech.
2. The older child / adult version of George and the Elephant has been finished. I really need to give both these stories a subtitle.
3. Last week I painted a flag / banner for a local junior football team for a cup final they were in. Unfortunately they lost two nil! I enjoy the whole process except sewing the hem!
4. Video finally! I’ve recorded, edited, and posted There never was a moment (in which the music died).” The video is linked below somewhere. This is important because I’ve now started make videos again. Though I lit and scripted this video really well, my rig is really mobile and light weight
