Wednesday Recap #16 07.08.24

The Eisenhower / Priority Matrix is a very helpful mental model for creatives. Sometimes the most urgent and important task is letting our minds wander and dipping into every last thing that catches our attention. But once we’ve found something worth doing we need to focus on it. That is get it done!

Over this last while, in these Wednesday Reviews, I’ve actually kept a pretty good eye on what I’ve been doing. So I can easily put what I’m doing creatively through this matrix.

Thankfully most of the things I’ve been focusing on have fallen into the Important & Urgent. Consequently my summer has been really productive. But that is because I’ve consciously focused on the most important things (read last weeks blog).

So here’s a bit of a review: there is a print out of my creative writing / story making up session / game (I need a nifty name for this!). Sled Down is now on my Kindle and is being proof read like a real book! While the #100 Day Challenge is starting to bear fruit.

The tasks that keep cropping up on my to do list but don’t get done all sit in the Import & Not Urgent category. The simple answer is leave them for a few weeks and schedule them for the start of September.

The only one that needs to be done, and isn’t being done and is important is the studio set up. So this one is going to have to take priority. But because the really important work has been done because it has been focused on, I have time to do it!

Review / Diary

1. Sled Down is an e-book and I’m half way through the second proof read (listen).

2. #100Day project – for voice and acting is on going – I’m still doing the exercises!

3. Video Studio I’ve built up kit bags of equipment.

4. Dyslexia videos: some work on scripts.

5. Hamely Tongue Poems & Patreon set up scheduled for September.

6. Creative Writing & Story Invention Workshop that needs a proper name, has been reformatted and is now printed out!

Next Weeks Goals / To Do

1. Sled Down finish e-book read through and focus on drawings.

2. #100Day project – continue exercises!

3. Video Studio get it done.

4. Dyslexia videos: some work on scripts.

5. Hamely Tongue Poems & Patreon set up scheduled for September.

6. Creative Writing & Story Invention Workshop that needs a proper name, spend time using it so as to refine it!
